Singa Bersayap (Winged Lion) in Balinese legend is the king of the forest. He is the protector, he conquers and balances evil. In Bali, Singa can be seen in many places. Often a temple kul-kul will have one at each corner, supporting the roof structure. Singa of Bali has a special place in their spiritual iconography and is distinguished from all other lions by having wings.
Singa in Bali is of Hindu-Buddhist origin. In Hinduism, a lion is an avatar of Vishnu. In Buddhism, Buddha sits on a lion as the throne of steadfastness, strength and wisdom; in Bali, singa is distinguished by its relationship with Barong.

After a year of staying on the “island of the gods,” I decided to digitally immortalize some architectural and artistic delights that not only add visual appeal to the projects, but also put a piece of the soul of this unique place. As part of this project, my goal is to popularize Balinese aesthetics in the world of design and architecture.
