EK_MODIFIER_PACK #1 — 3ds Max 2026 / 2027
Four tools for everyday modeling, size adjustment, and UV manipulation. Especially useful for creating furniture, shelves, slats, boards, tiles, and other objects with repeating details.
All tools work as modifiers: the result can be adjusted in the stack, and after removing the modifier, the object's state reverts to that below in the stack.
FFD Vertex — size adjustment while preserving the shape of details.
A modifier for changing the dimensions of cabinets, windows, doors, and other models with rigid details. It moves only the outer vertices, allowing for size changes without uniformly stretching the entire geometry.
Segments and strength of application allow you to configure the area and degree of effect. You can transform the model both parametrically — by setting values — and manually — by moving control points.
It works with individual objects and groups. Particularly convenient for fitting built-in furniture and window structures where it's important to change the overall size while preserving the shape and proportions of individual details.
FFD 2.0 — dimensions while preserving proportions.
Works like a standard FFD 2x2x2, but with added parametric editing capabilities.
Control the object's dimensions along the X, Y, and Z axes with additional deformation possible through control points.
The Size Lock button links size changes, preserving current proportions. For example, when increasing the height from 200 to 300 mm, the width and depth also increase by 1.5 times. When locking is disabled, each dimension can be adjusted separately.
UV Tools — projection and UV adjustment in one modifier.
Two modes for quick work with texture coordinates:
- UVW Map — Box, Planar, and Cylinder with size adjustment, movement, rotation, and scaling of the gizmo.
- UVW XForm — scaling and rotation of the existing UV unwrap.
Size locking preserves axis proportions. The ×2 / ÷2 buttons quickly change the scale, while −90° / +90° changes the UV orientation in XForm mode.
Fit adjusts the gizmo to the geometry being processed. Center centers it while preserving size, rotation, and scale.
It supports working with the whole object and selected polygons or elements. A common gizmo is provided for multiple objects. The UV channel is selected in the modifier parameters.
UV Randomizer — texture variety without additional maps.
Randomly transforms existing UVs separately for each geometric element or polygon without changing the geometry.
Capabilities:
- Element / Polygon — randomization by elements or polygons.
- Scale — scaling relative to the UV center of each part.
- Seamless — free offset of UVs for seamless textures.
- When Seamless is disabled, the processed UVs are placed within the range of 0–1.
- Rotation 90° — random rotations of 0°, 90°, 180°, or 270°.
- Mirror — random mirroring of UVs.
- Seed — reproducible result; the Randomize button creates a new variant.
- Map Channel — selection of the UV channel being processed.
Main scenario: reduce the UVs of tiles, boards, or slats and distribute them across different areas of a single texture. This helps eliminate identical patterns on repeating details without creating separate materials.
Collaboration
First, set the projection using UV Tools, then add UV Randomizer to diversify the pattern on individual elements. Particularly convenient for wooden shelves, slatted structures, decking, and tiles.
Compatibility and installation
Includes separate builds for 3ds Max 2026 and 2027, Windows x64. Use the files corresponding to your version of Max.
Copy the .dlm to the plugins folder and restart 3ds Max. SDK installation is not required.
