Fence Builder — a script for 3ds Max that quickly creates procedural fences along a straight line or a selected spline path. Suitable for architectural visualization, environments, game scenes, and quick blockings.
What the script does
Generates a fence made of posts, panels/boards, rails, and caps.
Works along a spline or a straight section.
Automatically orients posts along the direction of the fence.
Creates objects with the prefix FB_.
Allows for quick deletion of all created objects.
Supports material and color settings.
Main options
Path
Use Spline Path — build the fence along the selected spline.
Pick Spline — select a spline in the scene.
If the spline is disabled, the fence is built along a straight line.
Main Parameters
Span Length — the length of one span between posts.
Fence Height — the overall height of the fence.
Post Size — the size of the post.
Panel Thickness — the thickness of the panel or boards.
Section Count — the number of sections when building without a spline.
Bottom Gap — the gap of the panel from the ground.
Top Gap — the gap of the panel from the top point of the fence.
Panel End Gap — the gap between the post and the panel.
Even Spans — evenly divides spline segments into spans.
Materials
Wood Color — the color of the posts, rails, and caps.
Panel Color — the color of the panels or boards.
Rails
Add Rails — add horizontal rails.
Rail Height — the height of the rail.
Rail Depth — the depth of the rail.
Rail Side — side of placement: Front, Back, or Both.
Post Caps
Add Caps — add caps on the posts.
Cap Height — the height of the cap.
Cap Overhang — the overhang of the cap beyond the post.
Panel Boards
Use Boards — use separate vertical boards instead of a solid panel.
Keep Board Width — maintain the width of the boards with varying section lengths.
Board Count — the number of boards in the section.
Board Gap — the gap between the boards.
Buttons
Build Fence — build the fence.
Delete FB Objects — delete all objects created by the script.
