The Chandelier pendant light is a design by Inma Bermùdez, exclusively for Habitat. Initially, the idea was to recall chandeliers from the 1950s, with metal tubes ending in 14 light points as the main material. The bulbs have been replaced by more modern LEDs, which has made it possible to reduce the overall dimensions of the chandelier, giving it a more contemporary look. It now evokes a tree with perfectly arranged "branches", which harmoniously diffuse the light.
About the designer: Inma Bermúdez studied industrial design at the Cardenal Herrera CEU University in Valencia and at the School of Applied Sciences and Design in Pforzheim, Germany. She started her professional career for German design studios like IDEA, BUSSE DESIGN and PRODESIGN. She also collaborated in the VITRA DESIGN MUSEUM workshops in the South West of France. In 2001, she was awarded the First Furniture Design Award from Andreu World. In 2008, she received the German design award from DesignPlus and was nominated for the 2009 DesignPreis award.
