Kodak No. 2 Stereo Brownie is a stereoscopic folded roll film camera that was introduced in 1905 and was released before 1910. The camera was manufactured by Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York, and used a production capacity of about 4,000 units. No 2 Stereo Brownie is a special camera that allows the shooter to shoot 3D photos while simultaneously taking two images simultaneously on one roll of film.
The camera produces paired effects of 3.25 x 2.5 inches on the roll film, and both images are then viewed in a special viewer. One image is viewed with the right eye, and the other is on the left, and the brain mixes them together for a 3D effect. Function No. 2 Stereo Brownie operates using two lenses, two bellows and two associated shutters.
Model No. 2 Stereo Brownie is equipped with two lenses with a meniscus achromat with four aperture settings, a brilliant hood seeker and a sliding focus with automatic stop. The camera is also equipped with a Stereo Brownie three-speed stereo shutter and uses 125 roll films. The camera measures 9.75 x 4.5 x 2.5 inches and weighs about 29 ounces. This model has a handle, conveniently located on top for easy transportation. Kodak No. 2 Stereo Brownie also has an excellent look with a red bellows, a wooden lens board, brass shutters and a cover made of wood, covered with leatherette. A great camera for a vintage shooter or collector!
