This script is primarily designed for quick scaling of raster and PDF drawings (site plans, territory plans, etc.) with high accuracy to real scale in the 3ds Max program. The secondary function (4-point method), similar to AutoCAD, scales a selected object to the size of another object. The main work is done with flat objects (plane, shape), but geometric figures can also be scaled.
How it works: In the 3ds Max program, a plane is created with the proportions of the raster drawing, a material is assigned to the plane, and the texture with the drawing is loaded into the diffuse slot. In the material, enable texture display in viewports. Find the longest dimension on the drawing, run the script, enter this dimension in the input field, and specify the dimensions of the dimension arrow with points. When switching to point selection mode, snap options are enabled, which can be turned off if necessary, directly in point selection mode. Also, when selecting points, you can scale the viewport for more precise positioning. The distance between the specified points will increase by the value entered in the "Target Length" field. Done!
A detailed description of the functionality is in the archive.
