Story
Verner Panton was one of the most influential figures in the design in the 1960s and 70s. Along with his experimental approach to shapes and colors, he was fascinated by the potential of plastic, a new material of the time. His goal was to create a comfortable chair, made in one piece, which could be used anywhere. After searching the manufacturer for several years, Panton came into contact with Vitra in 1963. Together they designed the Panton chair, which was first introduced in 1967.
