Coffee table made of sand on a polymer base.
The Resin Based Sand (RBS) series was developed from work with cast bronze. Resin based sand, an essential component in the casting process, is typically a disposable material that is pressed into large blocks to create one-off moulds. Adapting the material to a new process has resulted in an ongoing series of shelving, tables, lamps and vessels. Each piece is entirely unique and is created using a subtractive technique similar to marble sculpture.
