SUMO Armchair
___
The sumo chair is an obvious allusion to the modern Japanese martial art and the form of full-contact wrestling that sumo is. Sumo, professionally practiced only in Japan, includes the quintessence of tradition, identity and strength. With four strong legs and a burly figure, Sumo stands firmly on the ground. Despite the fact that the armchair is the epitome of determination, fearlessness and inflexibility, its rare shape, soft lines and leather upholstery give it elegance and solidity. In the role of Hiroko Matsumoto, Pierre Cardin's longtime muse and the first Japanese model to appear in Paris collections, Sumo is a shining star.
