WebP2JPG: WebP to JPG converter in one click
Downloaded an image, but it's in WebP format, which doesn't open in older programs and is not accepted on many websites? WebP2JPG turns such files into regular JPGs in a couple of seconds. No installation needed: it's a single file with a dark interface and its own icon.
Capabilities
Converts one or multiple WebP files to JPG.
Accepts files via drag-and-drop: just drop them onto the program icon, and they are instantly converted.
Downloads an image from a link. If the link specifies a small width (width= or w= parameter), the program requests a larger size from the server and saves the larger version.
Conveniently paste in the link field: there is a "Paste" button, right-click menu, and hotkeys that work even with the Russian keyboard layout.
Remembers the folder: images from the link are saved in the same location as the last selected WebP. The folder can be changed with the "Change..." button.
Replaces transparent backgrounds with white, as JPG does not support transparency.
Considers the rotation of the image and saves the JPG at a resolution of 96 DPI.
Displays the image size in pixels before and after conversion.
Files remain on your computer. Internet is only required for the "from link" mode.
How to use
Run WebP2JPG.exe.
Click "Select WebP files..." or paste the link to the image and click "Download and convert".
JPGs will appear next to the original files. The program will show the result and the file path in the window.
System requirements
Windows 7 SP1 and newer (64-bit version).
Python and other programs are not needed.
Important to know
The program does not improve quality: if the original file is small, the JPG will be just as small.
The "from link" mode only works with direct links to images that include a width parameter. If the server does not provide a larger version, you will receive what is available, and the program will notify you.
Only the first frame of animated WebP is saved.
The top bar of the window with the title remains light: Windows 7 does not allow it to be dark.
On first launch, Windows may show a SmartScreen warning because the program does not have a digital signature. Click "More info" → "Run anyway".
