An author opens their profile, scrolls through their models, and tries to figure it out — was this month a good one or not really? That batch of flower arrangements from 2020 — is it still bringing in anything, or is it done? And that stool I made back in 2019, the one that seems to outsell all my new work combined — is that actually true, or am I imagining things?
Sales analytics are now in your account, under Profit → Sales statistics . Go ahead, treat yourself to something nice today.
We'll walk through what's inside below. In the meantime, open it in a new tab, and ideally on a desktop.
What's inside
In short, this is a page where you can see everything that's happening with your sales. You can look at Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, or All time. You can switch between number of sales and earnings in rubles. You can also filter by platform — view them separately or all together.
There are five blocks inside:
- You earned — total amount, number of sales, breakdown by platform, and a comparison with the previous equivalent period.
- Daily chart — see which days had sales and which didn't.
- Top models — which of your models brought in the most for the selected period.
- Top subcategories — which categories work best for sales.
- All-time sales ranking — a separate, full list of all your models, sorted by total earnings over their entire history.
A couple of things that are easy to miss:
- The comparison with the previous period is based on the selected filter: "Last 7 days" compares with the previous week, "Last 30 days" with the previous month. So if the arrow turned red, check which period you're looking at before getting upset.
- The Sales / Rubles toggle applies to the whole page, including the chart and the picture in rubles can look very different from the picture in units sold.
- The All-time sales ranking sits at the bottom of the page, separate from the filtered blocks at the top. It's probably the most interesting part for anyone who's been on 3dsky for a while: you can see exactly which model from which year is still pulling in money.
Open it , click around, see what's there. If something feels off or inconvenient — let us know.
Thanks to Kirill (Artnway)
You may have seen the browser extension that tracks sales statistics on 3dsky. It was built by Kirill , and it's a really good tool. You'll find more features and analytics options in there — Kirill plans to keep developing it, so if you want more than what's currently in your account, the extension is available on 3dsky right now.
Kirill helped us out when we were building the sales analytics for the Profit section. We're staying in touch with him and working together on collecting feedback from authors so we can keep improving the analytics. Kirill, if you're reading this — you're awesome, thank you!
Over to you
Open it up, click around, take a look. If you spot a bug or have a suggestion — drop it in the comments.
Thanks to all of you for waiting. Without you, without your models, and without your nudges, neither this section nor any reason to build it would exist.
