Before rendering, please check in Rendering - Effects, Hair and Fur if the mr prim mode is selected. If not, then choose.
If suddenly something went wrong, and the archive has the files Guides_splines_fur.max, fur_pled_presets.shp and fur_pled_presets.shp.swatch. The last two are a hair preset, they need to be dropped into a folder in "C: \ Program Files \ Autodesk \ 3ds Max 20 .. \ Hair \ presets". And Guides_splines_fur.max merge into the scene. Then in Hair and Fur => Tools select Recomb From Splines and click on the loaded splines in the viewport, and the wool will take the desired shape. Now splines can be removed from the scene. After that, in the same tab Tools => Presets, click Load and select our El_Santo_fur_preset. And everything should work out. The archive also has a screen of Hair and Fur settings.
