Max2Marmoset: export from 3ds Max to Marmoset Toolbag in one click
Installation:
Drag Max2Marmoset_Installer.mzp into the 3ds Max window, installation will occur automatically.
Send the scene from 3ds Max to Marmoset Toolbag with one button, including materials and textures. No need to manually connect maps and rebuild shaders.
What it does
Exports the scene to FBX and automatically opens it in Marmoset Toolbag 4 or 5.
Reads materials and recreates them in Marmoset: Albedo/Base Color, Roughness (or Glossiness, inverted automatically), Metalness, Emissive, Opacity, Normal and Bump maps.
Captures simple colors, including colors within maps, such as CoronaColor.
Supports Corona, V-Ray, Arnold, Physical, and Standard materials. For layered and Blend materials, the base layer is taken.
Identifies glass and automatically sets up refraction in Marmoset.
Live link: press "Export" again, and the scene in the open Marmoset is replaced with a new one. The scene also reloads if the FBX is resaved.
Normal format settings (DirectX or OpenGL).
Can include hidden and frozen objects.
Three texture modes
Gather all textures into one folder (identical names are processed automatically).
Take from the original folders. Nothing is copied.
Search by name in the selected folder (with subfolders).
Convenient
Export goes to the max2marmoset folder next to the .max file.
Installed versions of Marmoset Toolbag are found automatically.
Button on the panel and menu item.
Interface in Russian and English.
Installation by dragging .mzp into the 3ds Max window. There is built-in uninstallation.
Requirements
Windows, 3ds Max 2023, 2026, Marmoset Toolbag 4 or 5.
Works with Corona, V-Ray, Arnold, Physical, and Standard materials.
Important
Proxies and scatterers (Corona Proxy, Forest Pack, RailClone) need to be converted to meshes before export.
