The changes affect account transfers, publishing models created by other authors or based on their materials, and using multiple accounts by one person. In this article, we break down what’s now allowed, what’s still prohibited, and how to act in gray areas with examples and explanations.

Account transfers

You can now transfer or sell an account, as long as both of these conditions are met:

  • the account does not contain any purchased PRO models
  • there is no active subscription for 30 free models per day

You can transfer either an empty account or an account that includes models you personally created and published. The key requirement is the same: no purchased PRO models and no active subscription.

How to transfer an account properly

To protect yourself from potential claims down the line, we strongly recommend formalizing the transfer by emailing our support team. This email serves as official confirmation of the account transfer, and from that point on, all questions related to the account, its contents, and any actions taken on it will be handled with the new owner.

In your email, please include:

  • a link to the account you are transferring
  • the new owner’s name and contact details (email and, optionally, WA/Telegram/Zilo)
  • confirmation that the account has no purchased PRO models and no active subscription for 30 free models per day

Publishing models created by others and using third-party materials

Previously, the rules required that a model be created entirely by you. That requirement has now been relaxed.

You can now publish models created by other authors, or use third-party materials when creating your own models as long as you have the author’s permission or a license that allows commercial use.

The key requirement is having clear, documented or written proof that you have the right to use these models or materials. Without such permission, using someone else’s models, geometry, textures, or any other elements is not allowed.

This means that a model or any part of it can be:

  • created for you as commissioned work, when you paid for the job and received the rights to the result
  • purchased or transferred to you together with the copyright
  • created jointly with other authors by agreement, with commercial usage rights granted to you by all contributors
  • taken from open sources or commercial asset packs, provided the license terms allow commercial use
What counts as third-party materials

Geometry, textures, maps, materials, and any other technical or creative output created by another author.

Allowed ✅

  • Publish models created for you as commissioned work, provided you have commercial usage rights
  • Publish models purchased or transferred together with commercial usage rights
  • Publish models created jointly with other authors, provided you have commercial usage rights from all contributors
  • Use models, materials, and textures whose license explicitly allows commercial use
  • Use third-party models, materials, and textures with the author’s written consent
  • Publish models where the author has explicitly allowed such use in the model description on 3dsky

Not allowed ⛔

  • Copy third-party models in full or in part without permission
  • Modify someone else’s geometry and publish it under your own name without the author’s consent
  • Include third-party elements, materials, or textures in your model without the author’s permission
  • Use materials purchased without the right to resell or include them in other models
  • Publish models created in violation of license terms (for example, using non-commercial materials for sale)
What counts as the author’s consent

Written consent from the author
This can be a private message on 3dsky , or an email where the author clearly states that they allow the use of their materials. These messages record the author’s username, date, and time, and cannot be edited which is why they can be considered valid proof of consent. We do not recommend using conversations from third-party messengers as evidence: such messages can be edited or deleted.

A license or contract
A license or agreement between you and the author stating that the materials may be used for commercial purposes (for example, commercial asset packs like Evermotion, provided their license terms allow it).

Public permission in a model description on 3dsky
When the author explicitly states in the model description that their model or materials may be used in other models.

How to confirm consent

When uploading a model, you don’t need to attach proof of the author’s consent, just make sure you keep it on file.

If a rights holder submits a complaint, the administration may ask you to provide confirmation: an email, a private message on 3dsky, a license, or another relevant document.

If no confirmation is provided, or if the documents do not clearly grant permission for use, the model will be removed. If the consent is confirmed, the model remains published.

What to do if your work was used without permission

Submit a complaint to support.

Include a link to the disputed model, a link to the original work, and any information that confirms your rights (for example, the publication date, source files, or screenshots).

Complaints submitted through the support form are reviewed the same day.

Please do not send complaints to moderators via private messages. Moderators handle private messages at their own discretion. Requests sent to support are reviewed by a dedicated specialist who works on these cases daily.

Multiple accounts

You are now allowed to have multiple accounts. We consider accounts to be linked if we can determine that they belong to the same person, and in that case we apply a shared limit on free models (3 FREE per day).

This change is meant to make it easier for authors to separate different projects.

What is still prohibited:

  • using multiple accounts to boost ratings or participate in contests
  • liking or commenting on your own models from another profile
  • trying to get more free models than the allowed limit

If the system detects a violation, all linked accounts will be blocked. We do not disclose the technical details of how account links are identified, but this monitoring is handled automatically.
